Our Mission
GrantFinder was founded on a simple belief: every nonprofit deserves equal access to funding opportunities, regardless of size or resources. We created a centralized, free platform that eliminates the barriers to finding grants, so organizations can focus on their mission rather than spending countless hours searching for funding.
Many small and mid-sized nonprofits lack the dedicated grant research staff that larger organizations have. They struggle to navigate the fragmented landscape of federal, state, foundation, and corporate grants. GrantFinder levels the playing field by aggregating grant opportunities from thousands of sources into one searchable database -- completely free of charge.
We believe that access to funding information is a public good. By consolidating and organizing grant data, we help nonprofits discover opportunities they would not have found otherwise, and we help funders connect with organizations that align with their values and goals.
Meet the Founder
Dr. Connor Robertson
Founder, GrantFinderDr. Connor Robertson founded GrantFinder after witnessing firsthand how difficult it was for small nonprofits to compete for funding against larger, better-resourced organizations. With a background in data-driven strategy, technology, and community development, Dr. Robertson set out to build a tool that would make grant discovery simple, transparent, and accessible for everyone.
Dr. Robertson is a Pittsburgh-based entrepreneur and consultant with deep roots in the nonprofit and community development space. His work spans multiple ventures focused on leveraging technology to solve real-world problems. He is the founder of Elixir Consulting Group, a technology consulting firm focused on building tools that create measurable impact, and he publishes The Pittsburgh Wire, covering business, real estate, and development news in the Pittsburgh region.
Through GrantFinder, Dr. Robertson combines his expertise in data engineering, user experience design, and nonprofit strategy to provide a platform that serves organizations of all sizes. His vision is a world where no worthy nonprofit mission goes unfunded simply because the organization did not know the opportunity existed.
